From Chief Crusader Scott Nipper:

  • Hi Crusaders,

We are entering the holiday season and this month brings some exciting topics to the group.

    In November we will:

    1. Deconstruct an Articulate Storyline game called "Connect the Dots". This was suggested by fellow Crusader Deb Sorrill and it looks like a good one. You can download the .story file from https://community.articulate.com/download/connect-the-dots and begin playing with it, if you are so inclined.

    2. Since the "Connect the Dots" story is a game, we will talk about Gamification. The topic is trending mightily and I imagine folks have questions about what it is, what it means, how is it different from "Games" (or is it?), why it is such a popular topic right now and what can you do with it in your creations.

I also want to make a couple of announcements.

The good folks at Alta California Regional Center have been wonderfully gracious and accommodating to us in 2014 and for that we are ever so grateful and appreciative. It's time, however, to share the wealth and move to other digs for 2015. We have a couple of options available to us and I am exploring them. But I also want to put the word out that we are open to suggestions and offers of places to meet. If you have input on this, let me know. I'll keep everyone updated on the status.

Also, starting in 2015, I want to utilize the Meetup space more for disseminating information and change our schedule to meet every two months instead of every month. I'd like to hear your input on this. I want to add value to everyone's good work and while I think the monthly meetings do that, I know that it's a major time commitment so I'm proposing to move to an every-other-month schedule (is that bi-monthly?)

As always, keep on crusading against boring e-learning and we'll see you in November.

    Thanks,

    Scott
