From Chief Crusader Scott Nipper:
  • Hi Crusaders,

We are starting a 3-part series: Adobe Captivate - Getting Back to Basics.

Adobe Captivate is a powerful authoring tool that can be used to create responsive elearning content such as software demonstrations, software simulations, branching scenarios, quizzes, screencasts, and more.  Captivate is so powerful that you are only limited by your imagination.

But to really dive into the rich capabilities of Captivate, it is important that you have a firm grasp of the basics.  In this 3-part series, we are going to cover the fundamentals that will provide you with a solid foundation on which to expand into the more advanced functionalities of the program.

    Who should attend?

    • e-learning designers and developers who are new to Captivate
    • Managers, instructional designers, subject matter experts, and others who could benefit from some knowledge of Captivate
    • Anyone who is new to e-learning and wants to get started with Captivate

These classes will take place over the next 3 eLearning SIG sessions.  Each session will consist of one hour of participatory learning and 30 minutes of Q&A.

    Topics covered include:

    Session 1

    • Using the Captivate interface
    • Creating a new project
    • Creating slides and adding images and text

    Session 2

    • Controlling object and slide timing
    • Adding and working with basic interactivity

    Session 3

    • Recording a software demonstration
    • Recording a training simulation
    • Recording a custom simulation
    • Working with audio and video
    • Publishing elearning lessons

To get the most out of these sessions, you should have a copy of Captivate 9 loaded on your computer.

Please make plans to attend and invite your friends and associates to join us.
