In the past few years, a new breed of Internet tools have burst into our personal and work lives.  Social media is changing the way we connect with others, communicate, and collaborate.  Organizational leaders who ignore this cultural shift risk short-term productivity, retaining key talent, and long-term, sustained performance.

At our April meeting, Jackie Alcalde Marr and Mary Ellen Kassotakis, authors of Social Media at Work: How Networking Tools Propel Organizational Performance, discuss their knowledge of key social media tools, how some organizations are using them inside their walls, and how workforce development professionals can tap the power of these tools for improving business performance.

Presentation Objectives:

  • Become more familiar with common social media tools
  • Learn how social media is being used by a few trailblazers inside their organizations
  • Gain some useful tips for using social media to create business strategies
