Have you ever wondered how to use social networking tools in your training courses? Do you have an interest in creating training with social networking tools, but feel you just don't have time to learn how to use all these tools for your course development?

If you want to learn the benefits of social networking for training, join our lively panel discussion and hands-on demonstration of just-in-time training using Twitter, Skype and Google Chat.

Join presenter/panel facilitator Paul Signorelli, together with  Bill Cushard (on site) and Sarah Houghton-Jan (online), for an interactive demonstration and discussion of using Twitter, Google Chat, and Skype for delivering just-in-time learning. Bill will show how he uses Twitter to facilitate live learning sessions; Paul will show how Google Chat provides an alternative delivery platform in similar settings; and Sarah will use Skype from an offsite location to deliver her part of the program and answer questions.

Please bring your laptops, smartphones, or any other devices that enable your participation in the hands-on activities.

Those wishing to set up a Twitter account, or learn more about Twitter before the session, go to http://mashable.com/guidebook/twitter/ .

Those wishing to set up a Skype account, or learn more about Skype before the session, go to   http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/support/user-guides/.

Those without Gmail accounts can establish an account, which provides access to Google Chat/Google Talk, at https://www.google.com/accounts/NewAccount?service=mail&continue=http://mail.google.com/mail/e-11-165e2091ca97c44523e8c5385fa0-4ec1fc2c0666c5145b1bc2015001fb338d4297a3&type=2

You will leave the session with

  • An understanding of how to incorporate social media tools into training-teaching-learning
  • The ability to engage in online learning with these tools
  • At least one idea you can apply in your own training-teaching-learning using social media tools
