Educational Consultant - Part Time - Curriculum Associates - Sacramento

Curriculum Associates is seeking a part-time Educational Consultant with a background in teaching, coaching teachers, delivering professional development and training, analyzing data, and working with school leaders to join our training team. Working closely with the Executive Director of Professional Development, sales team, and other Curriculum Associates professionals, the Educational Consultant will be responsible for providing product training and communication with school leaders.


Hours: Part-time trainers are scheduled as needed, paid hourly. Schedule is highly dependent on customer demand, with peak season occurring mid-July through October.

Location: Sacramento, CA


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Become an expert on the company’s online diagnostic and instruction program and Common Core products
  • Help coordinate and deliver on-site product training to teachers and school administrators. Potentially deliver trainings via webinar.
  • Track and submit  detailed training notes
  • Complete all assignments in a timely manner
  • Present a professional image at all times to customers and prospects

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Successful candidates will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a record of achievement: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5+ years of experience in teaching/coaching/ training
  • Possess a basic understanding of the Common Core State Standards (ELA and Math)
  • Understand principles of adult learning and how to apply them to professional development
  • Excellent computer and internet skills; knowledge of online meeting programs (e.g. GoToMeeting/WebEx) a plus
  • Willingness to travel (mainly locally, but some air and/or overnight travel opportunities, if desired)
  • Superior time management skills: ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately
  • Proven organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must have own transportation and laptop that meets the i-Ready system requirements and can open and edit PowerPoint, Excel, and Word files.
