Inspiring Positive Action Through Storytelling
Virtual Workshop

We often are left wondering why more people are not attending the onsite and/or online learning opportunities we develop and offer. We also often wonder why lessons we are sharing are not applied in our workplaces. This highly-interactive workshop focuses on using storytelling to attract learners to our onsite and online learning spaces, and to engage those learners in ways that inspire them to immediately begin using what they have learned to the benefit of the organizations and customers they serve. 

Please note: participants are encouraged–but not required–to bring examples of stories they currently use in their marketing and/or learning offerings so we can critique and learn from them.

Takeaways:

• Demonstrate an ability to apply a learner-centric approach to storytelling in learning
• Apply basic storytelling techniques to attract learners to what those participants offer in their onsite and online learning spaces
• Identify and incorporate into your work three storytelling techniques that inspire learners to apply what they are learning

About the Speaker:

Paul Signorelli, author of Change the World Using Social Media (Rowman & Littlefield, 2021) is a writer/facilitator/lifelong-learning advocate with substantial management experience in libraries and other educational organizations. He is active at the local (Sacramento and South Florida), regional, and national levels in ATD as a workshop facilitator and volunteer.

He currently serves as Community Strategist and a Storyteller in Residence for the Arizona State University ShapingEDU community to foster global participation in a community working to reshape learning in the digital era; is co-facilitating ShapingEDU’s “Connecting for Work & Learning” universal broadband access initiative and an initiative to collect and disseminate stories of how educational organizations are successfully responding to pandemic-era shifts in learning; is helping create and facilitate professional-development skills through mentoring and workshops for student journalists at his alma mater (UCLA); and works with advocates at the local, regional, national, and international levels to incorporate social media into their efforts to produce positive change.

As an independent contractor, Paul serves as Advocacy Training Program Manager for the California Library Association; is a regular participant on Maurice Coleman’s long-running T is for Training podcast; blogs at “Building Creative Bridges”; is a frequent contributor to the ShapingEDU blog; has an Amazon Author Page with links to his work; and can be reached at paul@paulsignorelli.com.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: Cancellations made more than five (5) calendar days prior to the event will receive a full refund. Cancellations made three (3) to five (5) calendar days prior to the event will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations less than three (3) calendar days prior to the event and no-shows will not be refunded or credited. Any unpaid balance due will remain according to the above guidelines. Refunds will be issued using the original payment method.
